    3 km outside Montagu. Situated at the entrance to Bad Kloof you have a choice of hot (43°c) or cold pools. Day visitors are welcome.  NOTE: Since the floods in December 2008, the springs have been closed for renovations.

Hiking Trails/Walks

  • Walk up to Old English Fort & Plaque in honour of Thomas Bain
    Situated on top of the tunnel in Cogmanskloof to the entrance of Montagu from Ashton’s direction. The fort was declared a monument in 1999.  The Plaque in honour of Thomas Bain -   Engineer and constuctor of Cogmanskloof and tunnel  is situated on the left side of the road directly next to the the tunnel on the Montagu side.
  • Aasvoëlkrans Trail
    Approximately 1½ hours.
  • Bessiekop
    1.2km circular walk in the Nature Garden. Begins and ends behind the tea garden.
  • Bloupunt Trail
    15.6km circular hike – approximately 6 to 9 hours. Begins at Ou Meul.
  • Cogmanskloof Trail
    12.1 km circular hike – approximately 4 to 6 hours.
  • Bad Kloof to Avalon Springs
    2.2kms and begins in Barry Street. A stunning scenic walk through Baths Kloof to the Springs.
  • Nature Garden
    Van Riebeeck Street.  Ideal for bird watching.
